The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is seriously one of the most elegant and romantic settings in all of Disney World. Whether you’re planning a surprise proposal, celebrating your engagement or anniversary, this resort offers a beautiful mix of classic charm, waterfront views, and timeless Disney details.
As a local Orlando engagement photographer, I’ve spent years capturing sessions here. (I often like to joke that it’s my backyard because I live just 20 mins away!) From quiet, intimate corners to wide-open views of Cinderella’s Castle, the Grand Floridian offers so many places that really make love stories shine. It’s a favorite for couples who want something magical but also relaxed and effortlessly beautiful.
There’s no shortage of stunning backdrops around this resort. Some of the most requested spots include:
The wedding pavilion, when accessible, offers a beautiful bridge pathway over the water and a stunning white archway directly in front of the Castle called Picture Point. This area is not always available due to weddings, but when it is, it adds a beautiful variety to your gallery.
While the main lobby is gorgeous, indoor photography at the Grand Floridian can be restricted unless you’re there on your wedding day, so it’s important to keep that in mind. However during certain seasons & times of day it can be less crowded and perfect for a little dance break by the piano!
If you’re not familiar with photography sessions on Disney property, don’t worry—I guide you through the entire process. There are a few things you’ll need to know ahead of time:
The Grand Floridian photographs beautifully all year round, and there are two times of day that offer especially flattering light.
The resort offers so much variety that we can really pull off a shoot any time of day, it just depends on the feel you’re going for. I’ll help you choose the right fit based on the season, light, and your personal style.

Whether you live nearby or are visiting Disney from across the country—or even across the globe—the Grand Floridian is a dream location for professional photos. I’ve worked with couples from all over the world (Shout out to all my UK and Canada couples! 👋) and I offer virtual consults and WhatsApp messaging to make planning easy no matter where you are.
Sessions can be romantic and refined, playful and fun, or a little bit of both! The goal is to capture something that feels authentically YOU, in a setting that’s filled with charm and wonder.
Do we need a permit for a session at the Grand Floridian?
Not officially, but there are guidelines we follow to ensure the session runs smoothly and respectfully to other resort guests.
Can we take photos inside the resort?
Indoor spaces like the grand staircase are generally reserved for wedding day access, but during slower months or early morning sessions, it could be an option. Regardless there are tons of outdoor locations that offer just as much beauty with fewer restrictions.
How long is a typical session?
If you’d like to hit just 1-2 main locations, a mini session is perfect. However if you’d like to be able to walk around the entire resort or allow time for two outfits and a relaxed pace I would recommend 1-2 hours.
What should we wear?
Neutrals, pastels, or solid colors work beautifully against the white buildings and green landscaping. Flowing fabrics always photograph well (bonus points for a twirly dress!), and comfortable shoes are a must if you want to explore the grounds.
Can we include the monorail?
Yes, absolutely. Whether it’s riding it to another resort or capturing it passing in the background, it’s a great way to incorporate that classic Disney detail.
How far in advance should we book?
The sooner the better. Morning and golden hour sessions are especially popular and tend to fill up quickly.
The Grand Floridian has a way of turning beautiful moments into unforgettable memories. If you’re dreaming of a session that feels elevated, joyful, and romantic, I’d love to help you make it happen.
