When your wedding includes a 3-day weekend getaway on a cruise ship traveling to the sunny Caribbean island of the Bahamas, I think it’s kind of destined to be AMAZING (no pun intended)! Amy & Scott’s destination wedding was definitely one for the record books. We embarked Royal Carribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas from Port Canaveral (a short drive from Orlando) on Friday afternoon and went directly to a plentiful lunch buffet– of course my favorite part of cruising would be the food. After a short pow wow with Scott & Amy to confirm the next days details, I had butterflies all night anxiously anticipating their ceremony the following day when we’d arrive in the Bahamas. Admittedly I get butterflies before every wedding, but being in another country will kind of amplify that nervous excitement just a little bit. Thankfully I had the best assistant ever (aka my husband Jonathan) along for the ride and he was the most wonderful travel buddy/bag carrier a girl could ask for. When we finally disembarked in Nassau, I was totally in the zone soaking in every awesome moment alongside my beautiful couple and about 60 of their closest friends & family.
Just a short drive from the main port in Nassau was the stunning Greycliff Hotel where their ceremony & reception would take place. Capturing the way Amy & Scott exchanged flirty glances throughout the entire ceremony was so darn cute. After taking advantage of the beautiful weather and picturesque grounds of the resort for portraits, they spent the rest of the night enjoying drinks and hand carved meats, authentic Bahamian music and smoking hand-rolled cigars. Perfection!
The following day at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Coco Cay, was super relaxing. I could really use a hammock on the beach after every wedding from now on– just saying! But the best part was capturing some officially married photos of the newlyweds as the sun set over the ocean. Talk about romantic! All in all it was truly an incredible experience and I am so honored that they allowed me and my husband to share in their wedding getaway. Feast your eyes on all of their gorgeousness below and enjoy some of my faves from the weekend!
