How did the proposal go down?
Well as most of you know we are a Disney obsessed couple and go every year for our Anniversary. August 2014 was no exception, as we went to Disney World to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. On Monday September 1, Jeff and I switched resorts from Pop Century to the Animal Kingdom Lodge as a special treat to celebrate our anniversary. That day was filled with lots of fun at the Animal Kingdom park. When we checked in at Animal Kingdom Lodge later in the afternoon, we went to bell services to get our bags which should have been delivered from Pop Century. We needed our Halloween costumes for that evening for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party! When we got to the Magic Kingdom, Jeff really wanted to get a picture before dinner but since we had some baggage issues (due to the resort transfer), we had to run to dinner first. Dinner at Be Our Guest was most enjoyable and we had a great table in the main ballroom. After dinner Jeff said “Lets go get a picture in front of the castle”. The photographer took our photos and Jeff said “I need one more”. He got down on one knee in front of Cinderella’s castle and opened the ring box, and I got so excited I said “Oh my God, it’s a real ring!” and ripped it out of the box and put it on my finger. So technically he never got any words out, but after 10 years I was just so excited! Now its the countdown to the day I marry my Prince and live Happily Ever After!
Since Jeff proposed at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party and we were dressed as Belle and the Beast we used that as our theme. Jeff was the one to search for my Halloween costume and we also had dinner at Be Our Guest that night so it just all made sense! A few details of the wedding are super special to me: Having Cinderella’s coach, Minnie and Donald being with us for cake cutting and dancing, the light up ice sculptures in the shape of a rose, and the wedding cake! Also we did incorporate some special colours Red (Jeff’s favourite colour), Pink (my favourite colour), and you will see a little blue (this is for my Grandma who loved blue)
We will be honeymooning at Disney! It just wouldn’t be right to honeymoon anywhere else, we have been celebrating our together anniversary every year at Disney now for years. We are so excited because we are able to attend two of the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party so get to recreate when we got engaged!!
