This sweet “Up” Disney movie themed proposal was so much fun to capture! The future bride’s mom was actually the first person who reached out in order to help coordinate this surprise marriage proposal. I was able to discuss all of the details with her first in order to avoid spilling any secrets to the unsuspecting bride-to-be. Her mom explained that Benjamin would be visiting Orlando with Peyton’s family on vacation. During the trip he had planned a horse and carriage ride for just the two of them at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside resort.
The plan was that the carriage would take the couple to the gazebo for a surprise stop. At the gazebo he wanted to have some colorful balloons and a banner as well as an ‘adventure book’ photo album he created for them. So my second photographer Jerzy and I planned to arrive early in order to meet a family member to setup the gazebo in advance. We helped hang the banner and made sure all the final touches were in place! We also captured some detail shots of everything before they arrived.
Shortly after that we could hear the horse and carriage coming from the other side of the lake and it was showtime. Peyton was truly surprised as they stopped at the gazebo unexpectedly and Benjamin got down on one knee! We were able to capture it all from afar without her even noticing he had gotten professional proposal photographers to capture the moment. Once she realized we were there, the second surprise was that they had a full 1-hour engagement photography session scheduled around the resort! I took them to some of my favorite spots and was able to get some super gorgeous and fun photos of them as official fiancees. I also got a stunning photo of her beautiful pear shaped engagement ring on one of the roses in the garden. It was so perfect and we had a great time with them!
