After doing some research online and coming across the many surprise proposals I have photographed over the years, Manan reached out to me for some expert help planning his own! He explained that he was expecting to have the engagement ring the first week of June. We tossed around a few different ideas but he knew he wanted to do it at the Grand Floridian resort at Disney. He also knew he wanted to do it at sunset since that was Ashley’s favorite time of day. Of course that was perfect because sunset is always the most ideal time to take pictures since the golden light is so beautiful!

After several text messages back and forth, we agreed on a date and a location by the dock. He would lure Ashley there by telling her they had a reservation for a fireworks boat tour. This would also be the perfect excuse for them both to get dressed up! When they arrived, my second photographer Jerzy and I spotted them from afar since he had cleverly sent me a selfie of them in advance. So we stalked them as they walked down towards the dock and tried to look incognito. I think we did a really great job because Ashley didn’t even notice us until Manan actually pointed us out to her! She was completely surprised and her expression was everything.

She thought their boat tour was scheduled to start, but instead we actually had a full 1-hour engagement photography session planned around the resort. Luckily the crazy Florida weather cooperated with us and we were able to capture some gorgeous engagement photos with this super sweet couple with no rain. We even managed to get into the Wedding Pavilion which is only accessible to the public when there are no weddings going on. We got super lucky that it was open at that time since it was the perfect spot for some ‘just engaged’ shots! We had so much fun with these two and it was SO hard to narrow down my favorite photos. Nonetheless here are just a few of my faves from their awesome proposal!
