I think one of the first thoughts that comes to your mind as soon as you get engaged has got to be the wedding dress. I know that trying on wedding dresses was literally the first thing I did when my hubby asked me to marry him. And my dress was my very first purchase I made for our wedding. If I’m being honest, trying on dresses was something I wanted to do way before I got engaged! I just needed that ring to gain me entrance into all the prettiness that is dress shopping. ;-)
So when I connected with Katherine, the beauty & the brains behind One & Only Bridal Boutique in downtown Orlando, to shoot an editorial for her look book I was beyond elated. Being surrounded by gorgeous wedding dresses as a girl is like being a little kid in a candy store. But what I loved most about the incredible selection of wedding dresses at O&O is that they’re all so special and unique. I love it when my brides personalize their wedding day and the dress is the perfect way to showcase your individual style whether it be trendy, boho, classic or elegant. Their dress selection is truly curated for the discerning fashion forward bride who wants to stand out on her wedding day.
After our shoot I had the opportunity to ask Katherine a few questions about her new boutique!
Elle: How did you get into bridal fashion?
Katherine: Fashion in general has always been a huge passion of mine, the ability to take something and really make it your own to reflect your personal style is everything to me. The wedding industry had also been a huge love of mine.. So mixing fashion and bridal together was pretty much a no brainer! It still fills my heart to be surrounded by such beautiful gowns and brides everyday, Getting them styled for the day they dream about their entire lives…that will never get old.
Elle: What do you enjoy most about working with brides?
Katherine: My brides become my dear friends, it’s as simple as that. Every bride who walks through the door means something to me yet we all have such a unique experience each time. The ability to become close with a stranger enough for them to trust you with such an important day is simply amazing. Having fun with bridal fashion, becoming a part of their family and making them feel beautiful and ready for their big day is absolutely the most enjoyable part of it all!
Elle: What can brides expect when they visit your boutique?
Katherine: Fun! Because that’s what this is supposed to be, a celebration! We give our brides an elegant experience in our exclusive stunning showroom and help them find THEIR perfect dream dress for their big day. Most of all, they will have fun.. I do everything in my power to ensure this process is as least stressful as possible!
Elle: What makes One & Only Bridal Boutique different from other dress shops?
Katherine: I believe there is a bridal shop out there for each bride, I really do. But I will say, the industry was lacking a few important elements that I felt brides deserved. Creating One & Only was my solution, to create a stunning couture showroom for EVERY bride. My passion for fashion is defiantly shown within the boutique, so I’ve done countless hours of research on the designers and styles located within the boutique and have managed to keep the entire inventory within a very reasonable price range. Every woman deserves an elegant and fun bridal experience tailored to their own personal style, size and budget so I am here to make that happen!
