So 99% of the time when I’m planning an engagement photo shoot with an out of town client, it’s always the future bride that I’m speaking with! Fact is, most guys aren’t really dying to spend an hour of their vacation time running around taking pictures with me– I totally get it. However, I am super lucky to have clients like Garrett that fall into that very special 1%! These are the guys that know how much these photos mean to their fiance and are willing to do whatever it takes to make their trip that much more magical. Kudos to these guys! :)
Garrett contacted me about a month and a half before his scheduled trip to Orlando, Florida with his then girlfriend Jen. He had planned to propose to her at Animal Kingdom the start of their trip, but wanted to extend the entire experience by also surprising her with an official engagement photography session at one of her favorite places in the world– Disney! So he planned the entire thing himself from deciding where to do the shoot, to making sure their bags were packed accordingly so they would both be photo shoot ready. He decided on two of my favorite neighboring Disney resorts– the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian resort as the location for their photos. As not to completely throw her off, he surprised Jen by letting her know about the shoot a few days in advance. Still she didn’t know exactly what the plan was and totally just rolled with it. Even though I didn’t capture their actual proposal (an awesome stranger did that for them in the park!) it was really awesome to have been able to be a part of the entire engagement experience that Garrett orchestrated for his future bride!!
I hope you enjoy some of my faves from their romantic rainy day engagement session below and make sure to also head on over to How He Asked to read more about their Disney proposal story!
