So this maternity session I shot last month was really extra special to me and I’ll tell you why! I first met Vicky & Jay about two years ago when they first connected with me about shooting their wedding! We instantly hit it off and I had the pleasure of capturing their engagement photos that Spring and their wedding at Paradise Cove in the Fall. I even enlisted Vicky when I was starting up my boudoir portfolio to model for me which she totally did and she gifted those photos to Jay on their wedding day!
Since then, these two have become great friends and we have shared even more awesome times together. So naturally when Vicky told me she was pregnant I was super excited for them! I don’t take on a lot of maternity shoots anymore just because I am so busy with the wedding side of things– but I will always make an exception for past clients and friends, and these guys are both!
We had originally planned to shoot their portraits at the Cypress Grove Estate House (which is another favorite of mine), but due to an insane accident which literally shut down the highway they were unable to make it out from Cocoa where they live to Orlando before sunset. Although it was a huge bummer, I had the bright idea to shoot at Canvas & Lakehouse in Lake Nona the next day since my husband and I already had Valentine’s dinner plans in that area. I figured we could shoot their maternity portraits there and then they could join us and a few other friends for dinner to celebrate V-Day! It was seriously so perfect and I’m glad that everything worked out in the end. Not to mention I got the opportunity to shoot at this great new location which I absolutely loved– so hey, everything happens for a reason.
I can’t wait to meet their baby boy Hunter in just a few short weeks! Until then I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite images from their maternity shoot below.
