It’s hard to think of anything more romantic than a proposal at a rose garden, am I right!? James came to me to capture his Winter Park proposal which he had originally planned for a Saturday. Of course with it being prime wedding season in Orlando, I was already booked but luckily I was free on Sunday and he was willing to swap things around so I could be there to photograph it! YAY :-) His plan was to recreate their first date. He made a lunch reservation at Brio’s followed by a glass of wine at (my favorite) the Wine Room. From there they would take a leisurely walk over to Central Park where they would end up at the most picture perfect spot in the rose garden.
I was a little concerned about this spot in front of the fountain being available on the weekend since the park tends to get a little crowded so we agreed I’d get there early to ‘reserve’ the bench until they arrived. As soon as I saw them walk around the corner, I would casually get up and walk away leaving the picturesque bench free for them. Luckily it worked out perfectly and the unsuspecting Dairlyn didn’t even notice me or my camera! She was totally surprised when James finally got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course she said YES! After the shock wore off a bit she finally turned to see me shooting away from afar and the look on her face said it all! She was totally surprised yet again. Nice work James!
We were able to capitalize on the pretty sunlight and awesome scenery to capture some official engagement portraits around Winter Park. It was such a fun proposal and I’m so glad I was able to be a part of it. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite images from this incredible shoot below!
Her reaction when she first noticed he had hired a proposal photographer! *PRICELESS*
