Almost a month ago, Nate reached out letting me know he wanted to propose to his amazing girlfriend Alex during their visit to Orlando, Florida from California. He had an idea of the date and time, but needed some help finding the picture perfect location to propose. Planning a surprise proposal like this from across the country when you can’t see the space beforehand is a little tricky! Thankfully I was able to connect with him by phone and fill in the missing pieces to make sure everything would be perfect.
I love shooting at Enzo’s on the Lake Italian restaurant in Longwood because they have the most beautiful little garden area outside of the restaurant. The pathway through the garden leads down the hill to the waterfront patio. The sun sets directly over the water from this vantage point, so it’s pretty magical.
I was able to advise Nate of the best time to arrive in order to capture the beautiful golden light off the lake at sunset. I was also happy to connect with my friends at Bluegrass Chic floral design to order fresh red rose petals that I set out for them in the shape of a heart before they arrived. Lastly, I brought my bluetooth speaker and had a romantic song that Nate chose playing as they walked up. I wanted to be sure that Alex could have her main character moment in all it’s glory!
She was truly shocked and totally surprised. I think the 3 of us all cried at least a little bit! 🥹 It was such a sweet and special moment to witness. I’m truly honored to have been able to capture the moment these two because official fiancees. I’ll be keeping my eyes open for when they announce their wedding date for sure!!! *Wink Wink Nate & Alex* Loved every moment.. thanks again for trusting me. Congratulations!
