When Courtney contacted me about capturing his surprise proposal I just knew it was going to be super emotional and heart warming! When he first mentioned wanting to propose at Glen Haven Memorial Park I was a little confused– I’ve shot pretty much every park there is in and around Orlando and I had never heard of Glen Haven. Once we chatted a little more Courtney explained that it was actually a beautiful garden at a mausoleum which was a place that was very near and dear to Rachel’s heart. He explained to me that family means everything to her and that for her surprise proposal he wanted to make sure that her family and closest friends were involved. This meant bringing together family members who traveled in just to surprise her as well as including her brother who had passed away a few years prior and who had been laid to rest at Glen Haven.
On that day he invited all of her friends and family for a rendezvous at a nearby location to make suer everyone understood the plan of action beforehand! His plan was to surprise her at the garden right by the mausoleum where she and her family would often go to visit her late brother. That day after their visit, Rachel’s mom would lead her back to the garden where she would be surprised by her dearest friends and family holding signs that together read “Will you marry me?” Courtney would be hiding nearby and would pop out to surprise her with a custom engagement ring!
Despite a few little rain drizzles, it all went off without a hitch. As you can imagine, through the many tears of joy, she said YES. I don’t think there was a dry eye in sight, myself included. It was truly a touching and beautiful moment. Courtney did an incredible job orchestrating the perfect proposal in the way he knew would mean the most to Rachel and it was a true honor to have been able to capture some awesome memories for them.
