Last week my pals over at Vegas.com, one of the top destinations for weddings, shared some great tips on choosing your wedding day location. Of course another big decision when it comes to locations is deciding where to honeymoon. Lucky for us, they were so awesome to chime in on that subject as well. Here are 3 things to consider when deciding where to go for your honeymoon!
Weddings can get pricey, and family isn’t always involved with helping pay the bills, so couples are often tasked with paying for their own honeymoon, after paying for their wedding fees. Sometimes newlyweds decide to hold off on their honeymoon to save up more money, or opt for a small trip to keep from breaking the bank. But, there’s no better way to celebrate your love after saying “I do” then getting away with your husband or wife for a while before returning to your busy day-to-day lives. Don’t be afraid to pick the expensive location, leave right from your ceremony to the airport, take that weeks’ vacation you’ve been dying to take and get a little extra time together away from everyone else.
Tropical honeymoons get a lot of hype with swoon-worthy beaches, colorful cocktails and breathtaking scenery. But islands aren’t the only place to consider when looking for the perfect getaway. Think outside the norm and consider something like Vegas. This is a city that will give you not only beautiful outdoor experiences with the Red Rock and Grand Canyon, but offers amazing nightlife, famous shows and tons of attractions that will give you and your spouse experiences that you’ll never forget, and ones that you can’t get elsewhere.
Don’t just look into the best honeymoon packages or what’s trending on your favorite bridal blog. Do a little research and think about what will be fun for both you and your new husband or wife. Look into deals that will encourage you to try things you normally wouldn’t think about, and search for hidden gems that aren’t just another tourist attraction. No matter what you choose and what your honeymoon destination has to offer, you’re with the one that you love, so you’ll be able to make some of the best memories that you’ll ever have.
