Anyone that knows me knows that I like things that are just a little out of the box! I can certainly appreciate tradition don’t get me wrong, but for me doing something out of the norm and injecting a little fun and personality always wins in my book. So when April, from The DTales wedding planning and Lee, the mastermind floral designer behind Lee Forrest Designs, reached out with an idea for a styled wedding shoot at the Castle Hotel in Orlando I was all in. Although we didn’t know exactly what direction our shoot would go, they were totally open to ideas and wanted to do something a little edgy and different. When we met for our first planning meeting to tour this beautiful hotel venue the artwork in the ballroom of a ballerina caught my eye. We were just spitballing so I threw out the idea of doing a “black swan inspired wedding” and to my surprise they were totally on board!
There is just something so captivating about ballerinas and their effortless elegance that really made sense in the scope of a wedding day. So the awesome vendor team totally ran with the concept putting together both an edgy and dramatic, yet classic and gorgeous shoot! The venue was absolutely perfect lending itself to a golden sunset wedding ceremony on the rooftop and the perfect ballroom to feature rich purple and pink hues for the tablescape. And of course our real life ballerina bride and her actual groom-to-be were the most amazing models. It was the perfect setup to inspire a modern bride yet timeless bride! We had such a great time putting together this wedding inspiration and I hope you enjoy some of my favorite moments from the shoot below.
