Orlando Wedding Photographer | Candace & Johnny

This blog feature has been a long time coming since Candace & Johnny were married in the Spring, but it was important to me that I put a little extra time and thought into this one because they are a super special couple to me! The groom Johnny is actually a long time friend of my husband. They met literally forever ago as they were both DJs in Orlando at the time. As a matter of fact, Johnny actually DJ-ed our wedding back in 2011! So when he told us… almost 6 years later, that he was getting married I knew it was finally my chance to return the favor at his wedding. (And of course you already know who his DJ was!) Not only was it a fun opportunity to work a wedding alongside my husband, which is super rare these days… it was my chance to capture our good friend’s wedding day so that they could look back on those memories forever.

You would think that photographing a friend’s wedding is a little bit less pressure… that you can kind of sit back and relax a little bit. But in reality, I see it as even more of a challenge because I want everything to be extra perfect and amazing! However Candace & Johnny are just so incredibly laid back and easy going, it is literally impossible to be stressed around them. Everything about them together is effortless– their smiles are never forced and the sweet moments come so freely that shooting them together is literally like a breath of fresh air. Even choosing my favorite images to share on the blog was SO HARD, because there are literally dozens upon dozens of incredible candid & emotional moments from their special day. 

All of the handmade details also added so much charm and personalization to their wedding! Candace really outdid herself with her amazing boho chic DIY decor. Her crystal wreath chandeliers were especially beautiful– I’ve never seen anything like them. And what’s even better is that she was able to reuse some of her charming rustic decor for their daughter’s baby shower later that year.. she is so smart.

I literally love everything about these two and even though it was our first time officially meeting Candace, my hubby and I both agreed immediately that she was truly perfect for Johnny. Capturing their wedding day was a sincere pleasure and an honor and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them and their amazing family. <3
