Joe, who is currently serving in the military, wasn’t sure where he would be stationed when he and Krystle were planning their wedding. They figured since all of their family and friends would be traveling in regardless that Orlando would be a beautiful and centralized location to tie the knot. I’m glad they chose Central Florida as the perfect spot for their destination wedding because it was a true pleasure to have been able to meet these two and capture their special day. I also have a soft spot for military families because my dad served in the US Army for 20 years and I spent my entire childhood in the military so I have a deep appreciation for those who serve in our nation’s armed forces.
Krystle and Joe picked the Crystal Ballroom on the Lake in Altamonte Springs, just north of Orlando, as the backdrop for their January wedding day. Since they were having a traditional Jewish ceremony which involves signing the Ketubah before the formal ceremony, it made perfect sense for them to also do a first look before the signing. Poor Krystle was a ball of nerves and she was literally shaking like a leaf as she walked out onto the patio to see Joe. The moment they locked eyes the nerves completely melted away and she was ready to marry the man of her dreams. We also took advantage of the opportunity to capture some portraits before their sunset ceremony since it would be completely dark out by the time the ceremony was over. Although the venue doesn’t have a lot of greenery around because it’s on a lake, we took advantage of some palm trees in the parking lot and with a little creativity (and me lying on the floor!) I managed to capture some pretty Florida palm trees as well for this out-of-state couple. I had such a lovely time with these two and it was really an honor to document their special day. Enjoy some of the highlights below!
