Part I: Choosing the Perfect Wedding Location

If there’s one place that really knows their stuff when it comes to weddings it’s Vegas baby! Am I right!? So for this helpful wedding advice blog post I looked to my friends over at Vegas.com, a site dedicated to all things Vegas with some awesome deals, tips & guides, for some helpful tips on choosing your wedding day and honeymoon location. Since they were so kind as to share a wealth of great information for my awesome brides & grooms, I’m breaking this one down into a two-part blog series. Keep reading for some useful tips on choosing your wedding location (and come back next week for so some sweet advice on picking where to honeymoon!)

 

Your wedding is one of the biggest days of your life, if not the biggest. Weddings are a time to get friends and family together to celebrate your love and look forward to what the future brings. For many, they want their day to be perfect, from start to finish, which includes finding the perfect venue. Whether you’re getting married in your hometown or choosing a faraway destination it’s essential that you find the right location for you and your spouse-to-be. But it doesn’t stop there. You also have to thinking about the after-wedding celebration – your honeymoon. Figuring out not just one, but two major locations can be daunting, but there are tips to keep in mind that will help ease the stress and leave you feeling confident in your decision.

The Wedding

Indoors or outdoors?

A huge question that couples ask themselves is, “Do we want to get married inside or outside?” Inside is an easy choice for many, because you don’t have to worry about the weather, and you can do a lot of preparation beforehand. However, outdoor ceremonies offer a unique type of beauty, and also give your wedding photographer room to take a variety of beautiful photos in different lighting. Way the pros and cons with your fiancé and make a list of priorities. What are you most looking for in a wedding day atmosphere? Consult an experienced wedding photographer and get their thoughts, since they really do have a special eye.

Geographical location

Some couples are more in sync with city life, while others prefer the quiet scenery of the country. Keep this in mind as you look at different venues, and consider what your city of choice has to offer. Orlando is an option that will never disappoint with beautiful weather and a ton of accommodations for your guests to consider, so they aren’t left struggling to find a place to stay.

Compatibility with Your Vision

Once you’ve decided if you want to get married indoors or outdoors and have nailed down the city or town of your choice, it’s time to book the actual venue. Sit down with your fiance and talk about how you both envision your ceremony and reception. If you want something extravagant, you might want to look into mansions or resorts. If you envision something laid-back, you might look into a barn setting or park. Think about the style of your wedding, the number of guests attending and how you want your big day to play out, and make sure your location is going to be compatible every step of the way.
